The Monarch of the Glen
This is my own tribute to Sir Edwin Landseer’s famous 1851 painting, The Monarch of the Glen. Whoever named it that obviously didn t realise that a 12-point stag is technically classified as a royal , rather than a true 16-point monarch . The painting symbolizes the majestic, untamed spirit of the Scottish Highlands.
