Whether you’re outraged by attacks on civil rights, the gutting of essential services, disappearances of our neighbors, or the assault on free speech and our right to organize, we invite you to join us in making good trouble.
Good Trouble Lives On (GTLO) is a national campaign, rooted in the leadership of late civil rights hero John Lewis—but built for today’s fight. From July 17 to July 19, communities across the country will take to the streets, courthouses, and community spaces to carry forward John Lewis’ fight for justice, voting rights, and dignity for all.
This year’s GTLO is a three-day national mobilization to honor the legacy of Congressman John Lewis by doing what he loved most - organizing, acting, and registering voters.
The weekend will serve as a kickoff for voter engagement, community education, and actions to support and remind our friends, families, and neighbors that we still have the power and freedom to vote. Join one of the planned teach-ins, protests, or outreaches. If your community is not listed, there’s still time to get involved and host an event, whether it is a video watch party, a stand-out, or a teach-in.

Register for an in-person or virtual screening of Love, Joy & Power + Post-Viewing Panel, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. Love, Joy, & Power is a feature-length documentary about the founders of the Black Voters Matter Fund, the work they are doing to empower African-American communities, and the crucial role they played in flipping Georgia from red to blue in 2020.

On July 17-July 19, six years after the passing of Civil Rights hero John Lewis, activists across the country will continue the fight for voting rights with the Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action, a national nonpartisan, nonviolent effort where communities across the country will come together for a weekend of voter engagement, civic education, and faith-based organizing.
For several months, Congress attempted to force through legislation that would block millions of Americans from voting, and state legislatures have been advancing similar bills at the state level. Now, many voters will face new rules and requirements to vote in November, including new documentation requirements, changes to vote-by-mail, and more.
In the wake of a widespread Jim Crow-era effort to restrict the rights and voices of Black and Brown communities, now is the time to bring more people into the movement for civil rights and democracy for all.
This year’s action is anchored by non-partisan voter engagement, civic education and faith-based organizing, under the banner of “Teach! Reach! Preach!”
“Teach! Reach! Preach!” is a national civic engagement framework and rallying cry inspired by the late civil rights leader and Congressman John Lewis. This three-pillar framework for civic engagement and community organizing advocates teaching about history and rights, reaching through trusted relationships, and preaching a message of hope and collective action. It is widely used by grassroots organizations and faith communities to mobilize action for voting rights and social justice.
The weekend will bring together grassroots organizations, legal advocates, faith leaders, and community members for a unified collective push to support one another in making our voices heard.
