Every time I see a 1st generation Toyota Tacoma, I think, “it doesn’t get much better than this.”
They ain’t cheap and you’ve gotta look out for rust, but man are they handsome.
I had a fun day dream and imagined the black one directly below with a modern and more powerful Toyota motor. Like a V8 pulled from a Tundra or making it a mini Japanese Ford Lightning and tossing in an LC500 motor.
Let’s not worry about logistics here. You know it’d be sick.
Founders - David Ogilvy ← listen to it here
So many great takeaways in this episode on David Ogilvy, and perhaps my favorite Founders episode to date.
I bought Ogilvy on Advertising right after listening to this podcast.
Here are some of my favorite David Ogilvy quotes from it:
“Search all the parks in your cities. You’ll find no statues of committees.”
“Pay peanuts and you get monkeys.”
“Don’t bunt. Aim out of the park. Aim for the company of immortals.”
“You are not advertising to a standing army. You are advertising to a moving parade.”
“In the best establishments, promises are always kept, whatever it may cost in agony and overtime.”
Here is some of his work:
The bond between man and dog… it’s the real deal. We’re lucky to have them.
“Hilarious are the weak who think they are good because they have no claws.” - Friedrich Nietszche
Planet Caravan - Black Sabbath
p.s. Are you subscribed to my YouTube Channel where I go in depth on all of this kind of stuff??? You should be.
p.p.s. Some of these links may toss me a commission without costing you any extra. This goes to buying more things so I can talk about them.
Cheers!
Dominic
