On July 24th was International Self Care Day and I wrote this post to share on the day but I got busy and forgot to schedule it ,so decided because it’s an important topic that I will share it today and why not include a new video from my park run this weekend that I was volunteering as for me when I get together with my park run community it is great for my self care, it is is so rewarding and rejuvenating.
Self care isn’t about being perfect, checking every box, or pretending everything is okay.
Sometimes self care looks like drinking water, going for a walk, getting enough sleep, or putting your phone down.
Taking also care of your mental health is one of the bravest things you can do. You deserve the same care, compassion, and patience that you’d give to someone you love.
In a world that often celebrates being busy, self-care can sometimes feel like a luxury. We tell ourselves we’ll rest when everything is finished, we’ll slow down when life gets quieter, or we’ll make time for ourselves “one day.”
But the truth is, self care isn’t about escaping life, it’s about giving ourselves the strength to fully live it.
As someone who works in healthcare, I’ve seen first hand how important it is to care for ourselves before we reach the point of exhaustion. Looking after our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing allows us to show up more fully for our families, friends, communities, and the people who rely on us.
Self care doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. Often, it’s found in the smallest daily habits.
20 Simple Self-Care Habits

Remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
For me, self care often looks like watching a sunrise or sunset, walking along the beach, baking for my loved ones, painting, writing in my journal, spending time with loved ones, volunteering, reading a good book, or simply sitting quietly in prayer and gratitude.
These moments may seem small, but together they help me feel grounded, grateful, and ready to face whatever the day brings.
Self care isn’t about being perfect. It’s about paying attention to what your mind, body, and soul need today.
So let me ask you:
What is one act of self care you can give yourself this week?
Sometimes the smallest step is the one that changes everything.
Wishing you all a blessed week ahead!
Much love ❤️
