Come find me before the break of dawn when the battle has been won I shall be among the ruins and the slain. Come find me and bring me home again. Cruel it may have been, come find me, a life lived for yours to be spared. Tread lightly in the dark, whisper your cries, and come find me buried beneath the light. The pain shall slowly fade. Come find me and see the hope behind my darkened eyes. Come find me in your past, but come tomorrow, smile. Come find me and find me waiting in death for you.
Author's note:
I know I’ve been loose with my poetry but to me anything that sounds like it has a rhythm whenever I read it that it almost feels like a song can feel like poetry.
Credit where credit is due, this was, yet once again, inspired by Miguel S. | The Fiction Dealer on the post below, do check it out. When I started out in Substack, I was mostly spending time participating in the microfiction prompts, it was and still is fun.
