hi! do you work from a studio or at home? if you work from home could I convince you to talk a bit about your setup? I’m curious to see what that looks like!

Hey! Bit of both, studio I go to has very limited lab hours, so I only do stuff like wheel throwing and glazing there while all of my sculpting is done at home. This is a tour of my setup haha. It gets very cramped when I have a lot of work in progress stuff, but has worked so far! Planning on finally getting some shelves so that I stop bumping into things (and to actually have table space to roll…

I would love to buy stickers of your clay creatures (either printed photos or drawn) if you’d ever want to sell something like that :-)

oh that's a fun idea, maybe I'll make a mini batch alongside next shop update! I have been meaning to make stickers generally, doing clay creatures could be fun.

I have such an intense need for “cracked creature”. 🥲🥲🥲🥲 im gutted that I missed the first sale you had. Will the newsletter tell me when your comissions are open?

You're good! Now I can save the name cracked creature for next time I do a crackle glaze. Cratered creature will be included in the next sale (which will be announced in the newsletter ) so you haven't missed them yet! Unsure on exact date for the update, I have lots of fun stuff in progress but we'll see when it all gets through the kiln (September? possibly October) I was planning on just using…

completely sold out in less than 2 minutes, congratulations!! i managed to snag pencil puppy, i’m so excited to give them a home! i do a lot of longhand writing & i hope they’ll be up to the task of holding my fountain pen while i ruminate. <3

Thank you! They should be arriving today, I hope the fountain pen fits! May pencil puppy do well at being a pen puppy :) dreamlogic : new friend got home safe & sound! they're a lil too small to fit most fountain pens (they are a puppy after all, not a full grown pencil dog), but they're the PERFECT size to hang onto dip pens & brushes!

Hello! Here are answers to 90% of my inbox (I greatly appreciate all of the ceramics interest and nice comments, even if I’m not responding to all individually!) Q: Will you remake [THING] 🦎: Probably not 1:1, no, but something similar! I enjoy what I make, so chances are I’ll revisit concepts eventually. If lots of people want a specific piece, I take note to give it some extended…

licky lad arrived safe and sound today!! he makes me smile whenever i look at him ☺️

yay!! glad he arrived safe, I hope you give him something delicious to hold :)

out of curiosity, are you planning on making more dragon headed pitchers/jars/whatever like the jovial jug? i adoreeee the shapes on that thing i think it is absolutely fantastic

Yes! I'm going to go on a pitcher-making quest to get better at functional pouring vessels. I might also make some store jars with similar head shapes, the swooping lines are fun.

In my head I describe some of your creatures as “Gluttonous Fellows” :3

Gluttonous greedy gobblers who will not stop until they've consumed all the spices in your pantry

Aahhh!! I got my little guys today and I love them SO MUCH. The packaging was impeccable and the little art extras were so cute! Also I’m sure it’s because they were in a hot UPS truck all day but when I finally unwrapped them they were very warm to the to touch, it was honestly a little uncanny (in a good way.) Here they are making introductions…

I'm so glad they arrived safe (and warm.. they live?)!!! Thank you for sending photos! I hope they're getting along well with the rest of your delightful collection :)

Congratulations on being one of the greatest “wierd little guy” craftsman of all time!

That's far too prestigious a title but I hope to live up to it someday! Thank you🧡

Sorry for an unrelated question to your upcoming ceramic shop, but I was wondering if there were plans to sell your prehistoric horse drawing based off cave paintings as a print? I love stuff like that and would love to get my hands on that one in particular!

Hi yes of course, just scanned it and put it up on inprnt! Sorry your ask got buried :)

I managed to get the shapely sugarbowl into my cart but tragically someone else checked out faster than me. 😭 they won fair and square tho, respect for the hustle. congrats on such a successful shop drop! I ended up snagging one of the lovely little stego guys instead. If you make more pieces in the style of that sugar bowl in the future I would be thrilled to buy one! I was so enchanted by it. I’m sure it will be well loved in its new home!

I have some more shapely extended family creatures in the works! I'll definitely be sure to have more of the various spoon tongue and toothy jar creatures next update haha. I hope you enjoy the tiny stegosaurus and may it be joined by a shapely creature some day!

I’m sure you are getting a lot of “will you make more” asks but I was wondering if you plan to make more dogs with spoon tongues…? they are just so stinking cute I would pay so much for one 🥺 they remind me so much of my own puppies with their goofy smiles

Right as you sent this in I had just taken off the plastic to finish this guy haha, so absolutely! Their tongues are well suited to being spoons (and yes I've gotten a lot of questions about that and commissions, which I will respond to soon! Just trying to finish my work in progress stuff that's on the brink of being too dry to be workable first haha)

would you be ok with inspiration from some of your designs being used for personal ceramics or even heavy inspiration? ( without selling or whatever with it just for like making for self )

Sure! Nice of you to ask. Send a photo if you'd like, I'd be curious to see :)

Hey hi hello! Are you the artist who made this statue called “Berry (the proffered gift)”? I saw it at an art fair last year and loved it, and your work makes me think of it so strongly. I adore that statue and I adore your little creatures!

Not me but that's a gorgeous sculpture- it would seem we both enjoy a toothy creature, so I can see the overlap! Flattered to be compared to such an established ceramicist haha- thank you for sharing a new artist for me to check out! Lots of cool work on her website evafunderburgh.com

Hi! First, I am So Happy for you that your shop opening was such a massive success! I’m gonna preface this next part by saying I realize it’s kinda selfish… A lot of people have been saying you should double or triple your prices. And on the one hand, yeah you would probably still make lots of sales if you did. But, I did want to say that it would make your pieces inaccessible to a lot of people, myself included. And I do want you to be compensated well for your art! I don’t know if you’re selling your pottery to pay for itself as a hobby and clear out stuff you’ve made, or if you’re trying to make a go at making this your job and a viable income stream to support yourself. So, if it’s to just offset the cost of your hobby and have a way to clear out your pieces every so often, I hope you won’t raise prices too much so that folks with less disposable income can still have one of your cool creations. But if you do decide to raise your prices a lot to have more income towards your cost of living I hope you’re still really successful and I’m glad I was able to get one of your creatures while they were in my price range <3

Hey there, thank you! I am in the "making a go at viable income" category, but definitely plan to keep a range of stuff available for whoever wants a creature! Rn I'll be mainly adjusting bigger/complex pieces (after timing myself/crunching numbers I think they were lowballed comparatively- for example I'd have a little simple guy at 35ish and a bigger guy at 70ish, but the big guy definitely…

Question about your creature jars– especially the ones with interlocking teeth– do you fire the lid and body together or separate?

Fired together during bisque and separate during glaze, since i do add glaze where the pieces meet :) Don't know if I'd recommend this though, it's always a gamble whether they'll still fit nicely. It helps to really slow dry it all the way to minimize warping (or cracks for that matter) and leave a smidge of wiggle room to account for glaze pooling downwards. I'm still experimenting with what…

Can you please make more of the bat-like variegated vessels? It looks like a little gargoyle.. it’s so cute, i really want one

I actually have some similar ones in the kiln right now, so yes!

Everything is finally packed! I’ll drop them off tomorrow morning except for a couple that need bigger boxes (added too many layers of protective packaging.) Will now get back to art making and answer some of the many asks in my inbox. Even if I can’t respond to everything, thank you for all the nice messages!🦎 Group photo before they venture out into the world :)
