We are in a chrysalis.

On Sunday of this week, we wrote a letter to our friends and followers online announcing the sale of our beloved retreat home (IAOMAI Retreat) in Tracy City, TN. (Letter attached below.) For those of you who have known us since it’s opening - you know the gravity of this decision. A year ago, it was not something we considered in the least. But as life teaches us, things we hold too tightly to often prevent new blessings from entering. In full transparency, we are both totally at peace with the end of this era - now. And over the las year the ups and downs we experienced kept nudging us closer to this outcome but it took us some time to honor the lessons, find humility and admit this was for the best. For everyone.

In fact, this massive change has asked us to press pause on each and every one of the generous “gifts” we were investing, offering, sharing, and well, just giving away. Nonprofit work is seriously depleting if the community it serves doesn’t fully support its vision. Over the last five years, we have tried to place the spotlight of healing on each and every mission partner and place we entered and we have tried to do this while putting the community first, but our needs last.

After the last year of pruning, we realized that it was time to set it all down, review the lessons, and see what our next move would be. Our chrysalis will be one of contemplation, renewal, and adapting to a new normal. Over the next few weeks and months, we intend to bring all of our focus and energy back to us, our family, and our own desires, so that when we emerge from the cocoon - this clarity and focus may remain in all our future plans. It must. The song “Hold On Loosely” is playing in my head right now. ;)

This pause will include the IQ publication which is under revision as well. If you have submitted an article, we have it saved for a future date. And we are hoping to resume our Weekend Well Spent gatherings in a variety of locations in 2026.

Until then, keeping in touch will be easy. We will continue to check in and update you here, and you may always DM us on Facebook and Instagram @iaomaiglobal. We would love to hear from you and your support means so much. All great visions require adaptation and alignment, over and over again. But a few things will always remain for this vision: it’s about healing and connection.

As 2025 comes to a close - we’re stepping once again into the chrysalis for deep reflection and transformation, collectively and personally.

As of end of October we made the impossible but necessary decision to sell our retreat home in Tracy City, TN. For the last 5 years we’ve poured our hearts and resources into an anchored vision of community and healing. Spirit is now pulling up our anchor and putting us back into open waters for a new adventure.

We’ve personally experienced both the highest highs and the lowest lows in this home. So much growth and wisdom has been gained from this journey and many friendships have been forged. Many people have visited and experienced profound changes and heart coherence in their lives and many more have been impacted by the ripples and waves extending from each person who holds an IAOMAI experience in their soul. We know these ripples will continue.

But all visionary dreams require occasions of deep inventory, regular pruning, and to keep us in utmost humility…big dreams always, ALWAYS beg the question:

“Who are you without this?”

After years of serving, giving and shining the spotlight on others; Spirit is now asking us what WE really want and who are WE, Misti & Jason, without this community space? More importantly, who will we become next?

So, into the chrysalis we go. With sadness, but also gratitude, with caution and loads of bravery.

Many things are happening behind the scenes, though we cannot share them yet. Many doors are opening based on the work we’ve done so far. But these openings require closure and surrender, first. Closing the doors to IAOMAI retreat in TN is one of the hardest decisions to make.

We have said this thousands of times, IAOMAI is not a place or a person. It’s a frequency of healing and wherever we gather in clarity, honesty, and respect IAOMAI is present and healing will happen.

We look forward to staying in touch with each of you and sharing the next iterations of our journey and of course hearing about yours too. And for those here who had great healing happen on the mountain…

Your story of hope and love will always remain in our hearts and in the Spirit of the land, lake, mountain, ancestors, and sky. Seeds never die, they spread, they root, and they do what seeds do - they grow.
