Natalie Moore · The State of Possibility

Think of this as the weekly mindset message before you head back out onto the field, the road, the meeting, the business, the conversation or the life you’re trying to build. A place for perspective, reflection and calm, ambitious action. Because the focus is never really about the finish line. It’s about who you become along the way.

Let’s talk Trust!

I don’t think ambition comes from motivation. I think it comes from self trust.

A new client started with me this week. She was nervous, excited and unsure of what might come from working together.

She has a very clear goal. An exciting one.

But underneath it all was a deep uncertainty about whether she was actually capable of achieving it.

It was clear from the moment we started speaking, it wasn’t clarity she lacked, it was Self Trust.

This by no means is a criticism, but rather an observation.

Typically when we think about trust, we think about it being outward facing - trusting others.

We rarely connect trust with self. We never give ourselves permission to have self trust.

We never trust ourselves enough to believe that we know the answer, that we know the steps we need to take and that we can do it.

Because self trust requires something uncomfortable. It requires us to take responsibility for our actions.

Afterall, if we put all of our trust in ourself, we have no-one else to blame if we fail.

But this mindset also keeps us small.

Let’s flip your thinking, Who would you praise if only you trusted you and you succeeded?

This is the part nobody talks about... taking responsibility to trust yourself.

Maybe the answer isn’t to increase your motivation or be more ambitious, it’s to trust yourself more.

The marathon mindset has taught me this again and again.

You don’t build trust by thinking about the road ahead. You build it by taking one self trusting step at a time. And then another and another.

Until eventually, you are on that road that once looked unclear, moving forward, trusting yourself completely.
