Welcome to The Breakdown by King Williams, a newsletter covering Atlanta’s hidden connections to everything. I am a documentary filmmaker, journalist, and podcast host based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Greetings! Tomorrow night, in partnership with the Atlanta Civic Circle and Capital B, we are hosting a watch party for the results of several Atlanta City Council races, metro mayoral races, and the Public Service Commissioner election. The event will take place at the legendary Manuel’s Tavern, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
In addition, there will be a live Q&A podcast recording from 7:30 to 8:30 PM featuring me and a few special guests. The conversation will focus on the 2025 electoral cycle and what to expect in 2026 in the state of Georgia.
A Quick FYI…
A few things to note: first, free parking is available immediately behind the venue. Once this lot is full, there is additional parking across the street, but it is a paid parking lot. So get there early. Second, for those who haven’t voted yet, please do so tomorrow. Turnout has been abysmal for Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.
How do I find out who’s on my ballot?
If you are looking for a quick look-up of who is on your ballot tomorrow, the Atlantic Civic Circle has provided one to help you get caught up on the candidates, the issues, and their stances before tomorrow’s election. You can access that right here. And if you need to find your polling location, check out the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page website.
Please go vote. Afterwards, come to Manuel’s and say hi!
