My mom used to say that having 3 of anything made it a collection. Apparently I became a collector of tiny notebooks a long time ago without actually realizing it. The largest of these are about the size of my hand and a few fit in my palm. Most in my collection are vintage, a few are handmade. Some are totally blank and others are full of some stranger’s notes. Either way I adore this tiny but mighty collection.
So why do tiny books exist in the first place? Like who thought this was a good idea. Well historically miniature books weren't just cute they were portable. They were made to travel in pockets and purses. You couldn’t fit an entire full sized notebook or rolodex in our handbag but a wee address book - sure. They have become a bit obsolete but like a silver dollar pancake I am a firm believer that most things in miniature are better.
