I’m Matthew Campbell (@kanwisher), an American engineer based in Bangkok.
I build things at the intersection of distributed systems, Go, and increasingly hardware reverse engineering and open robotics. I’m founder of TensorFleet, working on open software for drone fleets.
Background
TensorFleet (current) — open software for robotics and drone fleets: making proprietary hardware usable with open tooling, simulators, and developer experience.
Loom Network / CryptoZombies — founder, Techstars Winter ‘18. CryptoZombies became one of the most popular interactive blockchain tutorials; Loom built application-specific sidechains and developer tooling for Ethereum-scale dApps.
DigitalOcean — microservices scalability: monitoring and distributed timeseries on top of Prometheus, Kafka, Cassandra, and Kubernetes, including open-source work around Vulcan. Talks from this era: Cloud in your Cloud, Distributed Scheduler Hell, Scaling to a Million Machines with Prometheus, Distributed Timeseries in Go.
Earlier — backend lead on Eikon Messenger at Thomson Reuters; engineering at Bloomberg, Gucci, and Cartoon Network; founded Errplane and Langfight.
Speaking
I’ve spoken at 20+ international conferences across Go, DevOps, microservices, and blockchain — GopherCon, PromCon, microXchg, GothamGo, JSConf.Asia, and Devcon among them. Videos, abstracts, and slides live on the speaker reel.
Open source
Accepted upstream contributions to Prometheus, LocalAI, Nomad, CryptoZombies and others, plus my own repositories: Open Source.
