Tim · Hypertext Collective

This is an attempt to make the components of the Hypertext Collective legible. I intend to edit this article as time goes on and we use different tools but for now, it’s important to make a list of what we have and what each part does.

Although Hypertext Collective is still in its infancy I couldn’t help but try and get an idea of how the world is starting to shape up.

X / Twitter is far from dead and there are still a lot of good people that exist and continue to interact on the platform, the tpot community being a shining example.

Inputs:

  • Substacks discovered here

  • Niche blogs from around the web

Outputs:

  • Tweets with quotes and links to main blog

  • Calls to action for the writing sessions and to newsletter drops from this substack

You’re here right now. This is where we will publish newsletters that will showcase the work done by members of the collective. The current idea is to do one each month. It’s also a place to interact and grow in a new, rich platform.

Inputs:

  • Blog posts generated by the community

Outputs:

  • Monthly newsletter

Serves as a landing page and directory for the rest of the ecoystem. People should be able to arrive at hypertextcollective.com and immediately understand what it is we do.

A guestbook and a permanent place that can hold the context of each writing session.

Inputs:

  • Posts from the community before and after the writing sessions

Outputs:

  • None right now

An event calendar and a tool for creating zoom calls. This is the landing page for all the non-twitter users.
