Experience with machine learning/AI is required. Some experience with fluid laboratory experiments is also required. We are seeking highly motivated students with strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C++) and familiarity with open-source modeling tools.
Two PhD student positions focused on the development and applications of digital water twins are available in the Water and Environmental Systems Analysis Lab (WESA) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Both positions are expected to start in Spring 2027 and are fully funded for up to four years.
There are two positions :
Position #1 will focus on the digital twins of regional water resources systems, addressing interbasin water transfer, ensemble-based hydrologic modeling, forecast-informed reservoir operations, and environmental flow management.
Position #2 will focus on the integrated digital twins of multiple urban water infrastructure systems in coastal regions, including stormwater drainage, rainwater harvesting, and wastewater reclamation.

The University of Minnesota’s Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo-Engineering is offering PhD positions in Environmental Systems and Risk Modeling, focusing on the integration of hydrology, climate science, and human-environment interactions. The lab emphasizes translating large-scale computational modeling into practical risk insights for communities and decision-makers. Key research areas include large-scale hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, ecohydrological model development, climate change and natural hazards, and risk assessment with uncertainty quantification.
