Imagine if…
The etheric and astral worlds are always around and within us, permeating the physical world. They are always there, but our physical body blinds us from them. Our five senses can detect only the physical world, but that doesn’t mean the etheric and astral worlds don’t exist. They do.
When we shed the physical body, we transition into another state of being. We exit our tool for physical interaction and become aware of the etheric and astral worlds.
Physical death is just a shift of awareness. We feel lighter and more expansive, but we don’t change.
In a healthy transition, we exist in the etheric world for a few days, as we reflect on our physical life from our new etheric perspective. Then we move on.
In an unhealthy transition, we might get stuck in the etheric world. This happens during a sudden death from an accident or war, if we’re emotionally attached to our physical lives or other reasons that cause us to stay focused on the physical world.
If a soul is suddenly forced out of the physical body, it often doesn’t understand what’s happening. We might hang around the scene for a while trying in vain to interact with people, then go back home to familiar surroundings. There is often confusion as to why no one responds to us, why everyone completely ignores us.
Souls also get stuck in the etheric world because they’re emotionally attached to the physical. They’re so focused on job, family or other physical responsibilities, they don’t realize they’ve transitioned, and keep going through the daily motions.
They might be unable to let go of a house they’ve lived in for decades, a marriage partner they’ve been with most of their long life or kids they need to take care of.
Often, a surviving spouse doesn’t want to let go either, so the deceased patiently waits in the etheric world until they’ve both transitioned. Hanging around in the etheric is not necessarily a bad thing in every case, but it can be problematic for the physical world and survivors left in it, as we will see.
We might also get stuck in the etheric world because pain-killing drugs numb our consciousness. When we leave the physical, we take our numbed consciousness with us and remain in a dream-like, partly unconscious state until we slowly wake ourselves up and realize we’re in new surroundings.
The above conditions are exacerbated by confusion and/or fear due to a lack of understanding of the phenomenon of death. This is extremely common in today’s world, where society tries to terrify us by programming us to believe that death is the end of us. It is most certainly not.
…that would be weird.
Next time, we’ll discuss how we can help stuck souls process the etheric world and move on into the spiritual.
