Huey: For the song “Stuck With You,” Chris Hayes created that progression, which is really cool… the chords, the key change, and then back again. We conspired on the melody together and I wrote the lyrics.
The best rendition of that song was in our Broadway musical, “The Heart of Rock and Roll,” because it’s played for laughs. It is part of a dream sequence where a lady imagines what life would be like if she married this guy. A baby drops from the sky into her arms, he cheats on her with a sexy gardener, he begs forgiveness, and then she stabs him with her high heel shoe. Stuck with you. The song was always meant to be humorous.
