It was Julia’s use of natural materials, colour and pattern that first drew me to her work. Her rooms feel beautifully designed, but comfortable too, classic without ever feeling twee or old-fashioned, and completely contemporary. There’s a moodiness to them, but a softness too, which makes them feel warm and inviting.
What I particularly love is the connection between the interiors and the world outside. Her designs feel rooted in both the people who live there and the surrounding landscape, which gives every home its own character. She has a brilliant eye for introducing unexpected colour and pattern, and art never feels like an afterthought – it’s an integral part of the room.

My approach to interior design is… I think of interiors as the capsule that holds our lives. It’s the place where meaningful moments happen.
