How to Micro-SaaS as a noob?

Sometime back, I realized that I work best in short creative spurts, and that kindof led me down the indie-developer loophole. The freedom to work on short, creative, money-making projects that don’t need any venture funding seems really interesting to me right now.

That’s what I have been racking my brain on for a couple of months. how do I sell a $1000+ yearly subscription to 10 people? I talked to an alumni from college (thanks vivek!), and he connected me to someone who needed something in AI. I was doing some AI stuff at google anyway, so it seemed like an easy project to build quickly, it wasn’t (as always).

Fast forward a couple of months, and we are deploying the project, and I have my first subscriber. I have very little idea how to get customer #2, but I feel it will be easier than customer #1. I need to work on sales a bit, and I have zero idea about B2B sales or sales in general (send help).

A little about the product, you can check it out here: infbot.cognotools.dev (I know the website is shit, it’s on my todo). An Influencer can bring their data (reels, newsletters, chats, etc), and I’ll train a bot that will respond to queries about what they say and how they say it. It can be a part of an influencer’s sales funnel or an extra perk behind a Patreon paywall.

I have some more ideas I am excited about. The plan is to keep shipping. I don’t want to be in the business of making businesses; I want to be in the business of making money.

Catch you in the next one, hopefully soon.
