Our new song, “If I Leave You Tomorrow” is officially out. You can listen to it here:
It’s an anti-love song, dressed up in all the clothes of a love song.
At its heart, the song wonders whether and how to proceed in a situation of uncertainty—or perhaps even inside a type of certainty that guarantees that the ending won’t be of the fairy-tale or hollywood variety.
Is it okay to throw yourself into something, or someone, knowing it has an end?
It’s a classic Americana balland, braided with lush cinematic texture, and layered with subtle complexities—the time signature modulates, stringed instruments sound other-worldly.
It is hand-rolled, boot-scraped, human-made music, at all levels.
We hope you love it.
When the sun comes up
I have to go my love
Even though we’ve only just begun
Leave your boots by the door
And your clothes on the floor
Go ahead, undress and make a mess of me
Don’t pack your things
Not yet my love
We’ve got no time to be in a rush
By the light of the day
I’ll say goodbye
If I leave you tomorrow
Will you love me tonight?
Tell me your wildest dreams and
I’ll let you unpick my seams
Ask me anything, except why I can’t stay
I hear the mountains call
the wind and the rivers roar
I need to get closer to hear what they have say
Don’t pack your things
Not yet my love
We’ve got no time to be in a rush
By the light of the day
I’ll say goodbye
If I leave you tomorrow
Will you love me tonight?
Despite the minutes ticking down
And a future that will not account for what’s here
Time is not the measure
It’s the moments here together
That we feel
Wait a while (I’ll wait a while)
Wait a while (I’ll wait a while)
Wait a while (I’ll wait a while)
Wait a while (I’ll wait a while)
Don’t pack your things
Not yet my love
We’ve got no time to be in a rush
By the light of the day
I’ll say goodbye
Don’t pack your things
Not yet my love
We’ve got no time to be in a rush
By the light of the day
I’ll say goodbye
If I leave you tomorrow
If I leave you tomorrow
If I leave you tomorrow
Will you love me tonight?
