Hello my lovely substack humans!
You might have noticed I haven’t posted on here in a while.
I found that my original goal of weekly posts was not sustainable with my full time job as an author with multiple deadlines. Not to mention maintaining a social media presence while also trying to be a present mom to my two daughters and actually having a little tiny bit of a life - haha!
I’ve taken out the paywall on all my posts and they will remain here, free, indefinitely for anyone who wants them! If you had a paid subscription before, your payment will not continue.
On a personal note, another reason for this decision is that I am attempting to take some things off my plate. My third book (Curses, Keys, and Secret Societies) released May 26th, 2026. The day after, I had a panic attack that spiraled into a full on burnout and mental health crisis that I am still recovering from. I was unable to get out of bed, to work, to do anything, really. I was throwing up from stress, had no desire to ever write again, couldn’t eat. It’s bar none the hardest thing I've ever gone through. In the midst of it, I also lost my soul cat. A Maine coon named Benya, so I was also dealing with a lot of grief. With the help of my family, friends, therapy, medication, and a LOT of learning/unlearning/meditation/reprioritizing, I am finally coming out the other side.
My debut novel came out in 2023. I began marketing it in 2022. For the last four years I've put some intensely high expectations on myself and forgot how to live in the moment, to celebrate the wins without immediately moving the benchmark. I placed my career on a pedestal and worshipped it until everything in my life seemed to revolve around it. Add to that the pressure of contracts, selling books, deadlines, trying to maintain my growth trajectory on social media, etc. well, it was a recipe for disaster! I’ve always repressed my emotions and struggles and pushed through…until I couldn’t anymore. It all blew up in my face and at the beginning of it, I never thought I'd say I was grateful for the explosion but now, I couldn’t be more grateful that it’s got me back to a place of LIVING. I still struggle with anxiety (always have), but each day is new and I feel more equipped to feel my emotions instead of discarding them.
Right now, I have six contracted books. Two a year coming out in 2027, 2028, and 2029. I am VERY excited about these books and beyond grateful that I get to write them! That being said, I also wanted to see what it would be like to take the pressure OFF. So, I've been writing a side project for fun that I'll be self-publishing in October. I’ll be a hybrid author! I’m seeking that control and freedom that comes from indie publishing and I’m so excited to dive in!

Thank you so much for being here and being part of the Alchemy Era. It’s time for the next era, now! The Freedom Era. The Make Work Fun Again Era. The Carpe Diem Era!
As always, I'm sending you so much love, light, and gratitude.
