Hello, and welcome to this week’s screening report! It’s a quick one, because The Odyssey looms so large over this weekend. There are a couple new Indian films releasing, the Telugu romance comedy Oh..! Sukumari (for which I can find no reviews) and Vadhala (which does not yet have a Letterboxd page,) but otherwise, it’s Christopher Nolan time. Next week fares little better, with the highlights being the proshot release of the (wonderful) musical Hadestown, Alan Ritchson action thriller Motor City, and a documentary on Brewers announcing legend Bob Uecker. In terms of rep screenings, WUD Film is wrapping up its water-themed series with Aquamarine and Pirates of the Caribbean, and the only other especially notable highlight is another theatrical release of the two original Evangelion films, the first a recap of the series and the second a beloved culmination. The weekend of July 31st, we’ll see the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
