I don’t think I have to worry about this TOO much, given that you’ve said the whole thesis of TG is the goodness of humanity, but when I think about how the crew is gonna possibly react to the Truth… I can for sure imagine some initial gut reactions of like “what? our hero isn’t who we thought he was?” But then it’s like… there’s no better group of humans who can understand Grace’s situation. Sure, they didn’t sign up for a suicide mission, but the mission is long and dangerous (case in point: one of their crew died). Like, they didn’t sign up to die but they did sign up for spending a large portion of their lives in space, to potentially never seeing friends and family ever again, to never having children, and to returning to an Earth that is very different than the one they left. They “gave up their lives” by choosing to visit Erid. I bet you there were a lot of candidates that chose not to go because of all that. And I bet you they were given more than 4 hours to think about it too.
