Everyone is building their lives on something. The question is: can it hold the weight of eternity? 1 Peter 2:410 is a clear reminder that, as Christians, we are called to build our lives on Christ, our Cornerstone. He is the author and perfecter of our faith, and in Him.
Anything in this life, apart from Jesus Christ, which we look to as our functional saviour is an idol which God wants to expose today. And even if you claim to be an atheist. You need to see that that is your religion, and your religion has its own idols which you worship, and look to for worth and salvation. None of our idols can deliver, none can save us.
Who of us is not in need of comfort today? "Do you trust in the Suffering Servant whom God has provided to die in your place? And are you living now, by his resurrection, under the Lordship of Jesus as your King?"

Who or what do you trust in times of crisis? We know that sooner or later well face crises, but where do we run when things are falling apart? In Isaiah 36-37 we see how king Hezekiah dealt with the crisis that his nation was facing.
Scripture calls us to think seriously about our eternal destiny. We will either spend eternity with God, marvelling at the gift of salvation won on the cross, or we will spend eternity paying for our own sins, receiving God's wrath because God will always deal with sin. Hearing this message may just be your opportunity to receive the gift of salvation.
