So the Fifty in 50 challenge is complete but during the time I was writing the daily blogs I started writing this one but never finished. I actually had ten minutes spare to finish this and here is an insight into what the first 36 hours in August were like for me!
I was driving back from a garage this morning and contemplating what I had done since left home yesterday morning, was it just me that has a life like this or is this just the norm for people!
So, I thought I would let you decide.
I left home yesterday morning at 07:30 and should say after not much sleep as I had been bat surveying the evening prior (daubenton’s and pipistrelles were spotted for those interested).
My first stop was to meet a member of staff at the King’s Foundation, to hear more about their role and what capacity I may have in supporting it with one of my many hats on. I then had a few calls to make before I headed further up country to meet with a good friend who runs a Rapeseed Oil business, have a general catch up with him, collect my order (of course) and then I hit the road again.
Finally around 16:45 I made it to my base for the next few days. I am attending a local agricultural show on Sunday and Monday and staying with friends.
On arrival it was obvious that they were preparing for an event (they are farmers who have a butchery and catering business) so sleeves were rolled up and I helped them pack their van as they were heading off to do a hog roast at a wedding. Once that was done I helped prepare sweets for the event as well as having a bit of a catch up. Then it was off to the wedding to help where I could. We packed up there around 22:30, back to base and had a wee glass of wine together. I then wrote my Fifty In 50 blog, just before midnight!
Up this morning and within minutes of seeing them, I had three empty propane cylinders and two jerry cans to take to said garage. A wee drive, a nice conversation with the person at the garage, new full propane cylinders and filled jerry cans, then it was back to base. And of course during that journey I thought about writing this!
