Fame came
with the baseball song
“buy me some peanuts
and Cracker Jacks”
I’m starting to care
if I ever get back.
I’m an antiquated snack
sentimental and sticky
occasionally found at a movie.
Peanuts smeared brown
and carmel corn,
clumped and stale
before it gets in
the box
the brightly colored box
with the jaunty sailor
on the outside
waxy on the inside.
And that prize?
Not really.
One more handful left
until crumbs.
What matters is
if I was shared.

Just a fun poem about sharing.

Speaking of which, you can share Holy Poetry with a friend.
