Primary season is ramping up, folks. Happening today are the Alabama, Georgia, and Arkansas primaries - we’ll be keeping a close watch on the results and reporting back in a new series in this Substack that highlights races/candidates to watch and the results of primaries as they happen.
After today’s primaries, next up are California, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota on June 7th.
There are a few candidates to watch in California.
Of course, there is Aarika Rhodes in CA-32, who needs to beat a Republican challenger to make it into the top two and take on incumbent Brad Sherman. If you are able to give Aarika some last minute firepower:
Another pro-crypto candidate to watch is Shrina Kurani. She’s making a strong run in the newly-competitive CA-41 to place in the top two candidates, which would pit her against current CA-42 Representative Ken Calvert (R). Shrina is an engineer, entrepreneur, and former employee of Republic Crypto. She’s looking to bring her experience and her pro-crypto policy positions to Congress… and she needs our help.

We’re excited to share two more HODLpac endorsements.
Over the last few months, a bipartisan group of eight members of Congress have been conducting oversight on the SEC’s information collection process pertaining to crypto companies. Specifically, the “Blockchain Eight” called into question whether the SEC’s practices are “at odds with the Paperwork Reduction Act” - which may sound funny to non-DC types but is an important lever that Congress can use to make sure the SEC isn’t inappropriately burdening innovative companies with unofficial investigations and info-gathering.

Of the eight co-signers of the letter, HODLpac has already endorsed six.

Rep. Byron Donalds, Republican Party, incumbent in Florida’s 19th District
Along with being part of the “Blockchain Eight” and conducting important oversight over the SEC on behalf of crypto innovators, freshman Congressman Byron Donalds is also a co-sponsor of the Keep Innovation in America Act and the Financial Technology Protection Act. Take these data points together and one can see that Rep. Donalds is emerging as a crypto champion in the House. As a member of the Committee on Small Business and the Select Committee on Economic Disparity and Fairness in Growth, Donalds will be able to make the case for crypto as an important innovation.
Rep. Jake Auchincloss, Democratic Party, incumbent from Massachusetts’ 4th District
Rep. Auchincloss is the current vice-chair of the House Financial Services Committee and is emerging as a pro-crypto Democrat. In addition to his involvement in SEC oversight mentioned above, Auchincloss is also a co-sponsor of the Keep Innovation in America Act. Solidifying Rep. Auchincloss’ support of our industry by showing him our appreciation is an investment in ensuring the future leaders of the Democratic party are on our side for the long haul.
