When I started working on hkknx (a HomeKit bridge for KNX), my goal was to make it easier for people to control and manage their KNX devices. KNX is a home automation system where devices are mostly connected through cables (twisted pair). It’s popular in Europe and is supported by many manufacturers, like Gira, Busch-Jaeger, and MDT.
There is not much happening in HomeKit lately, so this update of Home+ is all about the home screen widgets on iOS 17.
After the crazy 12 month building a house for my family, I was finally able to work on my apps again.
The result is the new version 6 of Home+. This updates includes the new widget types and a nice feature for Eve devices.
In Home+ 5 the usability and appearance of the app is very similar to Apple’s Home app.
Why?
Because most people already use the Home app.
They should “feel at home” when switching to Home+.
Maybe you remember the times where my HomeKit app was the only Home app on the App Store.

Just in time for iOS 13, there is a new version of Home+.
It has a completely new user interface with improvements all over the place.
Since the intial release of HomeKit in 2014, Apple added new features to HomeKit every year. But this year was different – no changes to HomeKit in iOS 12. Nevertheless I’ve added new features to Home in version 3.3.
