Chapter Thirty-Four
“You turn back into yourself right now, young lady!” Riese gasped.
Apparently magical crises had her channeling her mom.
In response Cat-Syrah stood, did a little turn, trying to look at her own tail, then sat back down.
“You can’t be a cat!” Riese continued. “You’re a child, a hu—Half-Elf child. Not a cat. Also, you can’t just do magic like this. You know we have to be careful …”
Syrah, not paying much attention to Riese, did a little hop, seemed to like it, and hopped again several times. She then flexed her paws, extending and retracting her claws, holding her paw up to examine her toe pads as she did. She gave a contented little, “Mew.”
