I’ve become a broken record about how much I love Littlebird.
I’m not being hyperbolic when I say it’s changed my life. It’s saved me time, energy, and given me back some mental capacity to do the things I’ve been tabling for a while (reading more books, applying for various TEDx conferences, and building out a proper business plan and projected P&L for Hyphenated).
And that was just last week.
Here’s the thing about using any AI tool—you have to be the one to log off and go live with that time and energy you saved, and to break from the siren call of doing more, more, more.
I’m very much a work in progress on that—but Littlebird (over Claude or other tools) has helped me do just that, with their routines that run efficiently and quietly.

Littlebird claims that it “remembers all of your work and can take action across all meetings, messages, docs, and apps.” It has become my executive assistant, project manager, and right hand when it comes to all of the kids’ stuff.
Do you remember when Emma Grede says she never reads an email from the school? Me neither (after I started using this).
It handles my inbox triage and drafts responses that require minimal editing from my end (because it has all the context it needs to respond accurately). Its meeting transcriber and notetaker is better than all of the other ones I’ve tried (replacing my Monologue recorder + Claude meeting minutes skill I’d been using before), and it briefs me before each meeting and circulates the summary and next steps mere minutes after a meeting. When I have a random idea, I’ll ramble into a new chat and it’ll organize my yap into a proper plan in Notion, and share it with the team members who need it (along with an email to schedule a meeting).
All of the human things I struggle with (emails, staying on top of projects and moving them forward, focus in meetings, all of the kids’ stuff) is now carried by Littlebird.
So how does it do it? Littlebird is continuously monitoring your desktop (with security practices - SOC-2 certification, GDPR and CCPA compliance, enabled HIPAA compliances - that reassures me of my data privacy). It’s always watching what you’re doing, which is very Big Brother (and why I keep my pharma work on another device entirely).
You can also easily turn off the screen capture feature, or delete the last 5 minutes, 1 hour, day, or all data of screen capture with a single click. I do this whenever I make a purchase online.
Because of the constant screen capture, it requires virtually zero setup or context. Littlebird learns how you work, what you’re working on, and what you’ll need within a day of using it.
Littlebird primarily runs on your computer, with the iOS and Android apps as companion apps on your phone or tablets. You can’t run the app from your non-computer devices, and it’s usually blocked by corporate IT departments if you try to download it yourself.
While Littlebird is outstanding at tactical and administrative work (and works across multiple email inboxes, calendars, and apps), it does have some shortcomings. It can’t produce a document in a Word or Excel format, nor is it as strategic of a thinking partner as Claude is.
You can virtually do the same things in both Littlebird and Claude - in the latter, it does require a fair amount of setup, context, and prompting.
So why am I using Littlebird more?
Aside from the multiple inboxes & calendars feature, I’m really trying to diversify my AI tools and usage, as well as minimize my AI use to what I actually need versus what I see during a quick swipe through the Instagram Reels tab.
When I started to use Claude at the beginning of the year, it was largely because I felt that Dario and Daniela Amodei’s values were aligned with my own. As the year progressed, Anthropic’s supposed values began to deviate from their actual actions. Their deal with SpaceX, to use xAI’s Colossus data centers (to a tune of $1.25B a month) and their deliberate destruction of books (many no longer in circulation) to scrape for their models pissed me off. Colossus has been devastating to the greater Memphis area (and illegally so). The Amodeis are in the position to make these choices - and I believe they’re choosing wrong.
It’s a necessary reminder that there’s no such thing as ethical billionaires or enterprises.
I’m not quite ready to build my own local AI model, but migrating my primary, regular tasks from Claude to Littlebird felt right to me. Littlebird runs a predominantly remote team, and built an outstanding product with a small team and comparatively minimal capital (with an $11M seed round). Flexibility, autonomy, and being scrappy as hell is how I run my teams and companies, and I like working with companies who work the same way.
Since using Littlebird, I probably use Claude 2-3 times a week (instead of multiple times a day). I’ve recently upgraded my Littlebird subscription to their Power plan, and have a Pro plan for Claude.
Here’s the thing - I barely had to set it up.
For the first week, I let Littlebird watch and get to know how I work and what I was working on. After a week, I asked Littlebird “what can you help take off my plate?” and we build specific routines and skills around my needs (which I’ll outline below).
As I got comfortable using Littlebird more for some strategic work (meeting minutes, how to format a yap into a Substack draft), I had Claude create skills files that I uploaded to Littlebird. I’ve also blocked off a half hour at the end of every week to do a context hack with Littlebird - it asks me questions to refresh its memory and knowledge base of me and what I want to be doing more of. We update the skills, refine/retire routines, and I’ll tell it what it should start/stop/continue working on for me.
These are the 5 ways Littlebird helps me every day. In the words of Jalen Hurts, it helps me “keep the main thing the main thing” and focus on the things only I can do.
