So Long, and Thanks For All The Fish

Everything online wastes so much time. It could be so much better but we are stuck in old ways of thinking because timelines got mixed up and we crossed our futures.

It’s time for me to speed it up by building out everything you need to understand the future at human speeds at Build In Public University.

One of the reasons that it’s hard to do things is that we’ve made it hard to know who to trust. Everyone is maximizing everything.

So I’m minimizing.

The maximum amount of money I’m raising right now is $50K. And it’s raising on a Mincoin, which is a new crypto structure that fills and then dissolves into receipts. The goal is to minimize the cost of coordination for a given network to bring together funding.

There are different types of people on different crypto networks, and people store money in those networks that is looking for returns. So the best place to deploy this energy is to the edge of the future where not much is known except who is looking at it.

So we build a battery and ask for energy. But you’ve got to fill your battery a little and show what you can do with it.

I put $42 in by making a sale to prove the idea and from there, created a new cybernetic organism I’m calling Build In Public University.

I’ve created the trailer, now I need help funding the movie.

We’re starting to stack the trophy case with receipts of the work we’ve done, and we’d love the energy to start doing more. It’s time to start adding student trophies. The system is able to see them now, so you ship them and we’ll find them. That’s why building in public is so powerful. You’re able to show up in a sea of noise to the people with eyes to see.

The main offering is an accelerator for researchers, and I mean this in the most literal way possible. I’m going to see how fast I can teach them to research the world around them. It’s a $999 cohort-based course that will run in the month of October. Sales will open up for that shortly.

For the Guide, I've got the basic interface built, which contains 2 parts.

1. the search. It searches over my corpus of work and returns an answer that shows you the connections over time to create it. And a shareable card you can throw on the timeline as proof of work. That’s the atomic unit of work at Build In Public University, asking a question. All questions are rewarded maximally over time according to the information they unlock.

2. the daily work. the writing, search over previous work/connections, and AI powered exploration of concepts that may or may not stick around.

The round is live. It lasts until it’s full. Then it’s fuel to hit the next level.
