Leo Guinan · Hitchhiker's Guide to the Future

I pulled out an out journal today because I know what I want out of life and I’m going to start manifesting more of it.

The story of the journal is a funny one. My wife got it for me to write ideas in because I was going to invent something some day that changed the world.

And for a long time, it stayed empty.

What the hell does an idea that changes the world even look like?

I had no idea.

But one day, I did.

I wrote down some basic definitions based on what I was feeling.

That took me on a journey.

It collapsed into something simple.

Basically, the longer you take in information about the universe, the deeper your knowledge gets. The deeper the knowledge you get, the more leverage you have over the time you’ve got available in the future.

But the less you can do because everything you start doing has unforeseen consequences, so you have two options: do nothing, or do things anyway.

This is the trap that “You can just do things” gives us. The other side of it is “You can just do everything now”.
