How Ambitious Are You?

Short post tonight because I had a cool opportunity tonight. I was offered a stadium tour before the Columbus Crew game against Atlas, and I got to take a picture on the field with my oldest. He’s almost taller than me now.

The reason I got the tickets was because they were trying to sell me on some for next season. So I made sure to get the pricing for the top level suites as well as the lowest price tickets.

I’m learning to be more ambitious. I wasn’t raised with ambition. I was taught to be happy with what I have. I’ve been too grateful at times, too accepting for my place in life.

During the tour, I practiced my pitch for Build In Public University. An online university that helps people adapt to rapidly changing futures with AI. And helping train organizations in AI rollouts that make their entire company faster and more efficient.

I told him about one startup I’m helping with, ESPN for youth sports. I think youth sports is one of the best possible pipelines for kids, because sports are a microcosm of life in so many ways.

And they’re contained in a form that others can watch. Highlight videos are easy to see.

Online, they aren’t. You can’t see my highlights unless you go digging. I’m terrible at surfacing them nearly enough. I’m trying to 100x my output to overcome the distribution hole I find myself in.

Lewis posted a solution to an Erdos problem, and asked for help validating it. He’s not a mathematician and found a hard time initially finding anyone to help him.

I’ve had similar issues, because mathematicians tend to be extremely focused in specific areas so a generalist bringing a solution isn’t something a mathematician can easily work with.

But Marvin can help some. So I put him on the case, and ran an analysis.

His Fable-based agent appreciated the input and used it to improve upon the solution.

I don’t know how much Lewis spent to work on the solution with Fable.

But Marvin was able to help advance it for $0.82.

That’s an incredible amount of leverage.

The goal is to eventually be able to translate the research and prepare it before connecting it to other researchers who can collaborate. That’s how we get to the future even faster.

But people don’t see this in the age of tokenmaxxing.

These are the types of highlights that we need to show people. To show them how to contribute to new work being released. Then it becomes a collaborate effort, not a Red Queen Race.

The entire economy feels like a Red Queen Race and I want to slow it down. But I also want to speed things up.

Slow the economy down to speed up the technological and societal advancement.

Make things run at human speed again.

So I don’t know what kind of tickets I’ll be able to afford for next season.

Everything is moving at speeds that don’t make sense to me. I see the speed they should move at.

I can’t see the speed they are moving at without extensive sensor networks.

I’m building a distribution network to deploy that sensor network.

But I’m not sure how long it will take.

I can only live a day at a time and build things brick by brick until it all finally works.

And on that day, I’ll happily upgrade to the suite.

Until then, we wait and see.
