Why I send 3 emails, not 300

This week I deleted 100+ email templates. All of them. Generic. Lifeless. Built to send to "luxury D2C brands" at scale.

I was going to blast 300 emails a day using some agency playbook I found online. Then I stopped.

Because that's exactly the kind of marketing I promised I'd never do.

If I'm preaching personalized service for luxury brands, why would I spam them with bulk emails?

So I rebuilt the system. Now I send 3 emails a day. Each one researched. Each one personalized.

Each one written like I'm already their partner, not a stranger begging for attention. Zero replies so far.

But I'd rather have zero replies from 3 real conversations than zero replies from 300 copy-paste messages.

I have seen D2C brands treat every customer like a number. Same email blast. Same ad creative. Same landing page.

And then they wonder why their ROAS is tanking and their customers feel nothing.

If you are running the same Meta ad template every other brand is using.

Your audience has seen it 50 times this month. They scroll past. and you will blame "ad fatigue."

Stop treating marketing like a numbers game.

Start treating it like a relationship.

Don't just swap images. Rotate the message.

"New moms who need sleep solutions" get different ad copy than "fitness enthusiasts who prioritize recovery."

Pick one positioning and stick to it across every channel.

Stop blasting your entire list. Segment by behavior.

  • First-time buyers get onboarding sequences.

  • Repeat customers get VIP treatment.

  • Inactive subscribers get re-engagement campaigns, or get removed.

This is infrastructure. And infrastructure is what separates brands that scale from brands that spam.

If your brand is spending $20K+/month on ads and still dealing with inconsistent messaging, plateaued ROAS, or customers who don't feel the premium experience, audit your personalization systems.
