“OurStoryBridge Listens: Present in the Moments“ is breaking through the noise to capture a snapshot of history as it unfolds. By moving past sensationalized headlines and resisting historical revisionism, OurStoryBridge empowers individuals to reclaim their agency and tell their own stories. Hip Hop Caucus CEO and President, Rev Lennox Yearwood Jr., recently shared his perspective as a thought leader and champion of the arts in the ongoing fight for a just democracy.
This national oral history initiative recently surpassed its 100th story milestone, documenting short-form accounts of the events currently shaping the American experience. Rev Yearwood provides a unique local perspective on how democracy and the arts are inextricably linked. His episode, titled “Why the Hip Hop Caucus Mobilizes from Louisiana to Venezuela,” explores how recent political, social, and cultural shifts are redefining the role of the humanities in democratic life.
