Spring in Toronto can only mean one thing: the return of Hidden Rivers. We are just a couple weeks away from the launch of this summer’s courses, tours, and events.
But before then, three very quick announcements.
I am teaming up with an all-star crew to organize a lecture on May 27 called “The Great Conversation.”
My tours are about the invisible ideas & people that make cities possible. This will be the same thing, but about technology.
We are going to explore some of the most influential ideas in the history of technology, discuss Canada’s unique role in that history, and learn how we can shape the conversation from Toronto.

Register for The Great Conversation
I’m giving a one-off classic tour—Toronto’s 12,000 Year History—on May 25 at 10am. This is my original and most popular tour. It has everything: ravines, rivers, ancient shorelines, the Queen of Rathnelly. If you’ve never been on a Hidden Rivers tour before, this is a perfect place to start.
This weekend is the most important event in the Toronto calendar: Jane’s Walk! It’s a festival of free community-led walking conversations—anyone can submit a walk and there are 150 on offer this weekend. I seriously can’t recommend it highly enough.
