note: The subject of this newsletter is the very definition of “privileged problems.” I’m aware of the state of the world, but also I compartmentalize, live life, do the best I can, and yes, go shopping. If this one’s not for you, by all means, skip it.
Back when I was starting my newsletter, someone told me that one of the things I had to offer was a glimpse into how it felt to really participate in “luxury fashion.” I would definitely not call myself a meaningful participant in that world. That said, I guess I am a unique beast in the sense of someone who is accessible, approachable, tells the truth online and has, in fact, participated in this, well, system. Last summer, I placed a custom order at Prada Rome and took all sorts of photos, with the intention of writing a newsletter on the whole fun process, and styling the pieces. Only it didn’t work out that way.
You’ve been asking me “whatever happened with that order?” And I’ve been waiting to answer until I had, well … an ending. Roughly 114 WhatsApp messages and nearly a year later, I don’t know that the ending is ever going to happen. Or maybe, more accurately, this is the ending.
