Vivek Chibber was on Doomscroll, which is a great leftist podcast I learned about recently. Chibber is wonderful at explaining the basics of socialism and political theory, even though he’s a bit grumpy sometimes. I think we should all be ready to explain what comes next if we win social democratic reforms like Medicare for All and build stronger unions.
I always learn something interesting about tech, encryption, or AI when I listen to a Meredith Whitaker interview. 404 Media recently reposted an old interview with her, and it’s a good one.
I’m in the middle of a new audiobook recording of Fahrenheit 451 with narrator Penn Badgley, which is excellent. This book is such a marvel, it always feels like it could have been written yesterday. Apparently, Simon & Schuster issued new recordings of several Ray Bradbury novels last year.
