So here we are again… again.

It’s been quite a few months since I’ve been here, when I realized that this would be a good platform to showcase a lot of my archives. I found a bunch of my Scene Anatomy 101 articles from my 411Mania.com days. I dug into the archives of my podcast Excelsior Journeys: The Road to Creativity. I even blew the dust off the two podcasts I put together for the National Podcast Post Month Challenge over the past few years: From Duck Till Dark: Outside the Marvel Studios and Excelsior Journeys: Behind the Scenes. And, of course, there was a spot reserved for the latest episode of my ongoing weekly interview podcast.

The schedule was set, the posts started going up, and after a few weeks…. crickets. Looking back at it, I can’t complain about the low numbers. It was five days worth of content, and four out of five days were reruns. It was too much and barely anything at the same time. And when that happens, you can do one of two things: you can dig in your heels and keep posting day after day while the numbers refuse to change, or you can accept that something isn’t working and walk away.

So I chose to walk away for a bit. Okay, for a while. Okay, for a LONG while. It was right around this time when I felt myself feeling less inclined to do much of anything. Social media engagement went down, conversations with friends became few and far between, replies to potential podcast guests took longer for me to craft replies. I still stayed on top of posting my podcast each week, but it felt like more of a chore, as did everything creative that’s currently on my plate. I’ve heard that’s a sign of depression, but that’s no surprise I already know I’ve had it for as long as I can remember. It’s definitely a sign of fatigue, which I have plenty of these days.

Now… what comes next here? Well, this is as far as the dwelling goes. I do intend to keep posting here, and I want to do it as often as possible, but I’m not going to set myself up for disappointment with lofty goals and then beat myself up for not reaching them. Not anymore. Instead, it’s going to be a bit more stream-of-consciousness here. I’ll dip into the archives from time to time, but if there’s something I just saw or revisited or finished working on, I’ll use this platform to give my thoughts, updates, etc.

I hope you’ll stick around for the ride. And if there’s something you’d like me to discuss, please feel free to let me know.

Thank you for letting me get this out of my system and back on the page…
