Every Human Comes From a Vagina. So Why Does God Have a Penis?

If you grew up in a Christian home or really,any religious home,you probably learned to pray before you could tie your shoes. "Our Father, who art in heaven." "He is risen." "God loves you, and He has a plan for your life." God was a man. Of course God was a man. Everyone said so. The pastor, the Sunday school teacher,your parents,the Bible itself. It was just... obvious. We're told,over and over again that God is beyond gender. God transcends male and female. God is spirit,not flesh. God is not a man sitting on a throne with a white beard. The theologians are very clear about this. The priests nod their heads. The imams agree. The rabbis affirm it. And yet.When we open our mouths to speak about this genderless, transcendent being, what comes out?"He." Not "she." Not "they." Not even "it." Always "he." And if you dare say "she",if you dare use the feminine pronoun for the divine,people lose their minds. They correct you. They look at you like you've just insulted their mother. They say you're being political, or disrespectful or just plain wrong. Why?Why does a being that supposedly transcends gender get a masculine pronoun by default? Why is "she" considered an insult while "he" is considered normal? Why is God a man when we all agree God isn't a man?

This is not about grammar or language pedantry. This is about power. This is about who gets to be seen as the default human,the default image of the divine. This is about how language shapes our understanding of who matters and who doesn't. If God is beyond gender, then "he" is just as wrong as "she." Both are limited. Both are incomplete. So why does only one of them make people angry?

The Language of Power: The Default Human

When we say "mankind," we mean all of humanity. When we say "man," we mean person. When we say "he," we mean anyone. This is what we're taught in school,that masculine language is inclusive,that it covers everyone,that it's just how English works. It's not meant to exclude women. It's just tradition. But here's the thing: language doesn't work that way. When you say "man," people picture a man. When you say "he," people picture a man. The studies are very clear on this. When children are asked to draw a "man," they draw a male figure. When they're asked to draw a "person," they draw a male figure. The masculine is the default. The feminine is the exception. The feminine is the other.

We say we're including women when we use masculine language, but we're really not. We're just erasing them. We're making them invisible. We're saying that the male is the standard, and the female is a variation. This is not a coincidence. This is how patriarchy works, by making men the default and women the deviation. By making the male experience universal and the female experience particular. By saying that men are people and women are... women.Now apply this to God.If God is the ultimate being, the highest power, the source of all existence and if we always refer to God as "he"what are we really saying?We're saying that the male is closer to the divine. We're saying that masculinity is more like God than femininity. We're saying that men are made in God's image, and women are made in... well, maybe they're made in some lesser image. Maybe they're made in man's image. Or maybe they're just made from a rib.

We're saying,without saying it,that God is a man. Not literally, of course. But functionally. Practically. In the way that actually matters, God is male. God has a male face, a male voice, a male authority. And if God is male, then men are closer to God. Men are more holy, more authoritative, more legitimate. Men are the default humans, the ones who reflect the divine.And women? Women are the exception. The other. The variation that exists to serve the default, to complete the default, to be the helpmate for the default. This is what happens when you say "he" for a genderless being: you make half of humanity into a footnote.

The Rib and the Vagina

Now let's talk about creation. The Bible says that God made Adam first, from dust. And then, because Adam was lonely, God made Eve from Adam's rib. This is the story we all grew up with, even if we're not religious. It's in our culture, our art,our jokes, our assumptions. Woman came from man. Woman is secondary. Woman is derivative.But.. nobody actually comes from a rib.You came from your mother's body. She grew you in her uterus for nine months. She fed you with her blood,her nutrients, her oxygen. She stretched and swelled and suffered. She went through hours of labor,or maybe a C-section and she pushed you out of her VAGINA. You didn't come from a rib. You came from a pussy. This is the simplest biological fact in the world, and yet we've managed to build an entire civilization that pretends it's not true. We pretend that men are the creators, the originators, the life-givers. We pretend that women are just the vessels, the containers, the incubators. We pretend that the real action happens with the sperm, with the seed, with the male contribution and the female contribution is just... housing.

The word "pussy" itself reveals this dynamic. It's a word that's been reduced to an insult, a weakness, a thing to be ashamed of. It's a word that's used to degrade and humiliate. It's a word that men use to assert dominance over each other: "Don't be a pussy." The pussy is the opposite of strength. The pussy is the opposite of courage. The pussy is the opposite of God.But think about what a pussy actually is. It's the passage through which every single human being has entered the world. It's the gateway to existence. It's the source of life itself. Without a pussy, there is no life. Without a pussy, there is no humanity. Without a pussy, there is no civilization. The pussy is the most powerful thing on earth and we've turned it into an insult.This is what patriarchy does. It takes women's power and calls it weakness. It takes women's creativity and calls it passivity. It takes women's life-giving and calls it just a vessel. And then it says that God is a man.

The Cosmic Joke;God creates life. Women create life. Men... don't.Men ejaculate. That's it. That's their entire biological contribution to the creation of a human being. They provide the genetic material,half of it and then they're done. The rest of the work,the real work, the work that actually creates a human being,that's all the woman's body. That's nine months of her body building a brain, a heart,lungs, fingers, eyes, a soul from scratch,from nothing, from a single cell. That's her body rearranging itself, compressing its organs,diverting its nutrients,forming a new human being inside itself, while the man just... waits.

And then she pushes it out. Or has it cut out. And then she feeds it from her body for months or years. And then she raises it. And then she loves it. And then she loses sleep over it. And then she sacrifices her career, her body, her sanity, her freedom all for this person she created. And the man gets to call himself a father.

This is not a dig at men,not at all. This is just reality. Men are biologically unnecessary for the actual creation of a human being past the first five minutes(I'm always generous here). Nature does not require men for humanity's continuance. Only the initial genetic material is needed. This is a fact. And yet, in every culture on earth, men have managed to convince themselves and everyone else that they are the creators,the originators, the ones who give life.They call God "Father," not "Mother." They say God is a man. They say the male is the source of life. They say women are just the vessels for male seed. And they say this even though every single one of them came out of a vagina. They literally passed through a woman's body to get here, and then they spent the rest of their lives pretending that women are secondary.

The God Who Is a Man:The Problem with a Male God

When God is a man, everything changes.Men become closer to the divine. Men become the ones who speak for God. Men become the ones who interpret God's will. Men become the ones who have authority over God's creation. Women become... followers. Women become the ones who must submit. Women become the ones who must obey.This is not just a theological issue,but also a practical issue. When God is male,then male authority is divine authority. When God is male, then male dominance is God's will. When God is male, then women's submission is a religious duty. And anyone who challenges male authority is challenging God himself.

This is why the pronoun matters. This is why people get upset when you say "she." It's not just about grammar. It's about power. It's about who gets to claim divine authority. It's about who gets to speak for God. It's about who gets to control the narrative.When you say "she" for God, you're not just using the wrong pronoun. You're challenging the entire structure of male dominance. You're saying that God could be female. You're saying that women could be closer to the divine. You're saying that women could have authority, could speak for God, could interpret God's will. You're saying that the male default is not the only default. You're saying that the male default might be wrong. This is why they correct you. This is why they look at you like you're crazy. It's not about grammar. It's about power. It's about keeping women in their place. It's about maintaining the fiction that men are closer to God.

The Divine Feminine

But here's the thing: there have always been traditions that see the divine as feminine. There have always been goddesses, mother gods, female deities. There have always been women who experienced God as Mother,as Wisdom, as Spirit. There have always been people who knew that God is not a man. The Hebrew Bible itself contains feminine imagery for God. God is described as a mother, a midwife, a woman giving birth. God is described as wisdom and wisdom is feminine in Hebrew. God is described as a mother eagle who carries her young on her wings. The feminine is not absent from Scripture. It's just been suppressed.

Why? Because patriarchy. Because men wanted to control the story. Because men wanted to control the divine. Because men wanted to make themselves the image of God and women the image of... something else.This is why we say "he." It's not because it's accurate. It's not because it's theologically correct. It's because it's politically convenient. It's because it serves the patriarchy. It's because it keeps men in power and women subordinate. It's because it makes male authority sacred and female authority suspect.

If God is beyond gender, then "he" is just as wrong as "she." Both are limited. Both are incomplete. Both are attempts to put the infinite into a finite box. But only one of them is used to justify power. Only one of them is used to oppress. Only one of them is used to keep women in their place. The other one is used to challenge that oppression, to question that power, to imagine a different world. So when you say "she" for God, you're not being disrespectful. You're saying that the language of patriarchy is not the only language. You're saying that the divine cannot be captured by the power structures of this world. You're saying that God is bigger than our gender stereotypes. You're saying that women matter, that women are holy, that women are made in the image of God just as much as men.

The Surprising Alignment:What God Wants Is What Men Want

In every religion, in every tradition, in every holy book, what God wants always seems to line up perfectly with what men want. It's almost like magic. God wants men to be in charge. God wants women to submit. God wants men to have authority. God wants women to obey. God wants men to speak. God wants women to be silent. God wants men to own property. God wants women to be property. God wants men to have multiple wives. God wants women to be faithful to one man. God wants men to control women's bodies. God wants women to be controlled.

Every single time, God's will matches male desire. Every single time, divine law matches patriarchal interest. Every single time, what's good for men is what God commands. Isn't that convenient? If God is beyond gender, if God is beyond human politics, if God is beyond our petty power struggles,then why does God always side with the men? Why does God always want what men want? Why does God always command what benefits men?

The answer is simple: because men wrote the books. Men translated the books. Men interpreted the books. Men preached the books. Men enforced the books. Men controlled the narrative from beginning to end. Men decided what God said, what God wanted,what God commanded. And what they decided was always in their own interest.When you look at religion, you're not looking at God. You're looking at a mirror. You're looking at what men want and then projecting it onto the divine. You're looking at male desire dressed up as divine will. You're looking at male power sanctified as holy law. You're looking at male dominance disguised as God's plan.This is why religious rules always benefit men. This is why religious punishments always hurt women more. This is why religious authority is always male. Because men designed the system. Men built the system. Men maintain the system. And the system serves men.

This is why women who challenge religious authority are punished. This is why women who speak up are silenced. This is why women who demand equality are called blasphemous. Because they're not just challenging men. They're challenging God. And God, apparently, is on the side of the men. But,think about the logic:

1. God is the highest authority.

2. Men speak for God.

3. Therefore, men have the highest authority.

It's a perfect loop. A closed circle. A self-justifying system. Men say God wants what they want, and then they use God to enforce what they want. Anyone who questions them is questioning God. Anyone who resists them is resisting God. Anyone who challenges them is blasphemous. This is the ultimate power move. Claim God's authority, and you can never be challenged. Claim God's will, and you can never be wrong. Claim God's favor, and you can never be defeated.

This is why women are second-class citizens in almost every religion. This is why women are silenced, controlled, and oppressed in God's name. This is why God always seems to want women to submit. Because the men who wrote the books wanted women to submit. The men who translated the books wanted women to submit. The men who interpreted the books wanted women to submit. And they made God the enforcer of their will.

The People Who Get Mad;The Psychology of the Pronoun Police

Why do people get so upset when you say "she"? It's not because they're concerned about theological accuracy. If they were, they'd stop saying "he" too. They'd use "they" or "God" or some gender-neutral term. They wouldn't default to the masculine.No, the reason they get upset is because you've challenged their power.When you say "she" for God, you're saying that women can be in charge. You're saying that women can represent the divine. You're saying that women can have authority. You're saying that the male default is not the only default. You're saying that the patriarchy is not eternal. You're saying that it might be time for a change.This is threatening. It's threatening to men who derive their authority from a male God. It's threatening to men who believe that their power is divinely sanctioned. It's threatening to men who fear losing control. It's threatening to men who are afraid of female power.

When you say "she," you're not just using a different pronoun. You're saying that the entire structure of male dominance is up for debate. You're saying that maybe,just maybe,men aren't the ones in charge. You're saying that maybe women are the ones who have the real power, the real authority, the real relationship with the divine.This is why people get angry. This is why they correct you. This is why they roll their eyes. They're not angry about grammar. They're angry about power. They're angry about what it means if God is not a man.

Consider the men who are most upset by this. The politicians. The pastors. The internet trolls. The ones who spend their time policing women's bodies and women's choices. The ones who are obsessed with controlling women's reproduction. The ones who think they have the right to dictate what women do with their uteruses.These are the same men who get upset when you say "she" for God. These are the same men who insist that God is a man. These are the same men who believe that male authority is divine authority. These are the same men who are terrified of female power.And why are they terrified?Because they know, deep down, that their authority is not based on anything real. It's based on a fiction. It's based on a story. It's based on the lie that men are closer to God, that men are the default, that men are the ones who give life. And if that story falls apart,if God is not a man, if women are not secondary, if the pussy is the source of life,then their entire power structure collapses.

When you say "she," you're pointing out that the Emperor has no clothes. You're saying that the patriarchy is not based on divine truth. You're saying that it's just a human invention, a way for men to maintain power. You're saying that it's not eternal, not sacred, not immutable. You're saying that it can change.And that is terrifying.And then there are the women. The ones who correct you. The ones who say, "But God is a man. The Bible says so. You can't just change it."These women are not trying to be oppressors. They are not trying to hurt other women. They are trying to survive. They have made a bargain with the patriarchy: they will submit to male authority, and in exchange, they will receive protection, provision, and status. They have built their lives around this bargain. They have given up careers, dreams, freedoms. They have sacrificed everything to be good wives, good mothers, good women.And if you say "she" for God, you are threatening everything they've sacrificed for.

If God is not a man, then male authority is not divine. If male authority is not divine, then women don't have to submit. If women don't have to submit, then the bargain is broken. If the bargain is broken, then their sacrifices were meaningless. If their sacrifices were meaningless, then their entire lives have been a waste.This is why conservative christian nationalists women get so upset. Not because they love the patriarchy. Not because they hate other women. But because they have too much invested in the system to see it collapse. They have too much to lose. They have given up too much to admit that it was all for nothing.

When you say "she," you're not just using a different pronoun. You're asking them to question everything they've ever believed. You're asking them to see their entire lives as a lie. You're asking them to face the terrifying possibility that they made the wrong choice. And that is too much to ask. That is too painful to confront.So they get angry. They correct you. They insist that God is a man. Not because it's true. But because they need it to be true. They need God to be a man, because otherwise, their sacrifices mean nothing. They need God to be a man, because otherwise, the patriarchy is just oppression. They need God to be a man, because otherwise, they would have to change everything.

What If God Is a Woman?

Throughout history, there have been people who saw the divine as feminine. There have been goddesses. There have been women prophets. There have been women who spoke for God, who led their people, who shaped their cultures. There have been traditions that honored the mother, the earth, the goddess, the divine feminine.These traditions were not always peaceful. They were not always liberating. They were not always kind to women. But they were different. They were alternatives to the male god. They were ways of imagining the divine that didn't center men, that didn't make men the default, that didn't make women secondary.And these traditions were suppressed. They were demonized. They were destroyed. The male god triumphed, and the female god was forgotten. The male prophets were canonized, and the female prophets were erased. The male priests were honored, and the female priestesses were burned.

This is a deliberate strategy. The patriarchy cannot tolerate alternatives. It cannot tolerate the idea that God could be female. It cannot tolerate the idea that women could have authority. It cannot tolerate the idea that the male default is not the only default. So it suppresses, erases, and destroys anything that challenges its power.

The Pussy as the Divine

If we want to reclaim the divine feminine, we need to start with the body. We need to start with the fact that women create life. We need to start with the pussy.The pussy is not a weakness. It's not an insult. It's not something to be ashamed of. It's the source of life. It's the gateway to existence. It's the place where every single human being enters the world. Without a pussy, there is no humanity. Without a pussy, there is no creation. Without a pussy, there is no God.

And yet we've made the pussy into a dirty word. We've made it into something shameful, something hidden, something that can't be spoken in polite company. We've made it into something that belongs to men,that exists for male pleasure, male ownership, male control. We've forgotten that it belongs to women. We've forgotten that it's the most powerful thing on earth.

What if we reclaimed the pussy? What if we saw it as the divine? What if we honored it, celebrated it, worshipped it? What if we saw the creation of life as the ultimate act of creativity, and we honored the women who do it?What if we saw God as a woman. Because women are the ones who create life. Women are the ones who give birth. Women are the ones who sustain humanity. Women are the ones who have the most intimate relationship with creation. If God creates, if God gives life, if God sustains humanity,then God is more like a woman than a man. God is more like a mother than a father.

The Political Implications of a female God

This is not just a theological issue. This is a political issue. If God is a woman, then women have authority. If women have authority, then the patriarchy is not divine. If the patriarchy is not divine, then it can be challenged. If it can be challenged, then it can be changed. If it can be changed, then women can be free.This is why the pronoun matters. This is why people get upset. Because when you say "she" for God, you're not just talking about God. You're talking about power. You're talking about who gets to be in charge. You're talking about who gets to have authority. You're talking about who gets to create the world.The stakes are high. The patriarchy knows this. It knows that if women can claim the divine, the entire system collapses. It knows that if the pussy is holy, male authority is meaningless. It knows that if God is a woman, then women don't have to submit.That's why it fights so hard. That's why it polices our language. That's why it controls our bodies. That's why it dominates our religion. Because it knows that the fight over God is really the fight over power.

The Death of the Divine Feminine

When we call God "he," we kill the divine feminine.We kill the idea that women can be like God. We kill the idea that women can create life. We kill the idea that women can have authority. We kill the idea that women can be holy. We kill the idea that women can be the image of the divine.We kill the mother goddess. We kill the wisdom figure. We kill the spirit that moves across the waters. We kill the Shekinah, the feminine presence of God. We kill the Sophia, the wisdom of God. We kill the Holy Spirit, which is feminine in Hebrew and Syriac. We kill every tradition that saw God as female, every goddess, every mother, every womb that gives life.And we do it all in the name of God. We say it's the truth. We say it's the tradition. We say it's what God wants. But it's really what men want. It's really what the patriarchy wants. It's really what keeps men in power.

The Lost Experience of Women

When we call God "he," we lose the experience of women.We lose the mother's love for her child. We lose the woman's experience of creating life. We lose the woman's understanding of sacrifice,suffering and joy. We lose the woman's relationship with her body, her blood, her womb. We lose the woman's connection to the earth, to the cycles of life, to the mystery of birth and death. We lose the woman's voice.We lose the prophetesses, the women who spoke for God. We lose the saints, the women who embodied the divine. We lose the mystics, the women who experienced God's presence in their bodies. We lose the theologians, the women who interpreted God's word. We lose the poets, the women who sang God's praise. We lose all of them, because their voices are erased, their experiences are forgotten, their relationship with the divine is invalidated.And we lose something in ourselves, too. We lose the ability to see God as mother, as lover, as friend. We lose the ability to experience God as nurturing, compassionate, life-giving. We lose the ability to imagine a God who is not a ruler, not a judge, not a king. We lose the ability to see the divine in the feminine, in the body, in the earth, in the womb.

Reclaiming the Feminine Divine

If we want to liberate ourselves from the patriarchy, we need to liberate our language. We need to stop calling God "he." We need to start using "she." We need to reclaim the feminine divine. We need to see God as mother, as wisdom, as spirit. We need to see God in the body, in the earth, in the womb. We need to see God in women. It's about reclaiming our power. It's about challenging the patriarchy. It's about building a world where women are seen as fully human, fully divine, fully capable of creating and leading and speaking and being.

They made God in their image. A God who looks like them, speaks like them, wants what they want. A God who sits on a throne, wields a scepter, and demands obedience. A God who is distant, judgmental, and male. They made Him in their image, and then they told us He made us in His. A perfect loop. A closed circle. A cage built with words.But here's the thing about cages: they only hold you if you believe they're unbreakable. And we don't believe it anymore. We've seen through the mirror. We've traced the pronoun back to the power. We've followed the divine will back to the men who wrote it. And we've realized that the God they gave us was never God at all it was just them, wearing a mask, pretending to be eternal… GODDESSES RISE. It's time.
