That night, lying in bed on top of the universe with my Apple AirPods Pro 3 thrust deeply toward China, music flowing everywhere—pure adrenaline and endorphins—I scrolled through Patrick Kelly’s plethora of fabulous photos and videos from our event. Wow!
I chuckled thinking about our baby girl Hannah—born at 26 weeks weighing one pound nine ounces—now signing her name alongside mine. She wasn’t just the subject and hook of the book anymore. She was its co-ambassador: beautiful, poised, and present in a way that made the twelve-year journey worth every moment.
I’m a huge dreamer—I’d been imagining this night for more than a decade—but even my wildest dreams didn’t come close. Surreal doesn’t begin to cover it: Hannah and I signed nearly 100 books with the crowd snaking all the way out the door. Then during our formal program, all fifty seats filled—standing room only! Pure, joyful insanity
Betsy was the Best Greeter (capital B intended), and Hannah—eloquently dressed and radiantly confident—delivered a phenomenal talk she’d written herself. She absolutely rocked the room knocked it out of Woodand and made us infinitely proud.
Thank you to everyone who came out to show love and support to the Hennessy family. You made this night unforgettable.
