It's a rare occasion that royal fans catch a glimpse of the Princess of Wales in a Disney-worthy ballgown, so she leaves a lasting impression when she does.

One of her most iconic looks was the Jenny Packham gown she wore to the Tusk Conservation Awards in November 2018.

Featuring a V-neckline, lace-capped sleeves, sheer lace cut-outs at the waist and a belted silhouette, the jade green dress not only lent itself to the glamorous event, but also marked a more daring style for the royal.

Kate may have felt emboldened to push the style boundaries as she followed in the footsteps of three other royal ladies. Princess Alexandra of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg was the first to debut a crimson version of the gown with cream lace accents at Queen Margrethe's 40th jubilee in January 2012. She teamed it with the Baden Floral Tiara and a gold clutch.

One year later, Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg was a glamorous wedding guest at Prince Felix of Luxembourg and Claire Lademacher's nuptials in the periwinkle-blue design from Jenny Packham.
