Mikayla Kim · Hello Internet Furniture

Every piece in this week’s edit was born in a different decade. Something about styling an interior that nobody tells you is it has nothing to do with trends. The core principals come from the mastery of pairing materials, shapes, and colors. Old next to new. Expensive next to cheap. The eye is the only thing that matters.

Marketplace keeps proving this to me every single week. You just have to know what you’re looking at.

The reclaimed farm table with its dark, split-plank top was probably in a barn or a trattoria or someone's grandmother's house before it was someone's Marketplace listing. The wrought iron bench with the black leather pad and the curled feet belongs to a different century entirely. And yet, put them in the same room and something clicks that you cannot manufacture. You can spend $40,000 at a showroom chasing this feeling. Or you can understand that objects made with intention recognize each other across decades.

Pssst. Forward this to the friend who needs to get off Wayfair
