This weeks picks are inspired by my latest Design Notes post from visiting an iconic Milanese apartment designed by Osvaldo Borsani during Salone.
Marketplace doesn’t know it yet, but it’s very on trend. Every week I never fail to find my new “basics” — slate, lacquer, burl, silver, etc. If your space could use some texture (and a little old-money mystery), these picks are for you!

Slate-top pedestal table — patchwork slate and copper tile top on a chunky wood block base. Tables like this landed in western style houses or cabins, but when reimagined in a modern space, it adds such a great point of juxtaposition and becomes a statement piece.
Sconces — these dainty sconces are so precious. Click on the link below because it actually has more flower stems coming from it! This would go great on either side of a sideboard, credenza, fireplace. This is actually the perfect starting point to introduce symmetry into your space!
Black lacquer nesting tables — another ode to a design note. There is no better way to introduce lacquer into your space than a three-piece nesting table set. ***Styling Tip: I wouldn’t recommend placing objects on the nested tables, just the highest one***
Black pedestal — pedestals are great. They add an element of height, and also provide the perfect platform to display something special.
Chrome vanity brush set — precious, useful, and beautiful. Genuinely just a beautiful object to leave out.
Carafe & Glass Set — hand-painted decanter and six goblets. Not subtle, and we love that!
Burl wood chest of drawers — five drawers, black lacquer frame, brass pulls. Makes the rest of the room look intentional.
