🌈 Week 1: Notebooking in Color

Welcome Week 1 of Writing in Color (aka Writing in Colour), a 6-week short course co-created and co-facilitated with Sophie Nicholls.

In this 15-minute video, Sophie and I share our own notebooking practices and discuss how colorful notebooks can create pleasurable containers for messy drafts and creative thinking.

After watching the video, we encourage you to experiment with the following activities:

• Make or buy a notebook.

• Make or buy 6 notebooks!

• Fill your notebook(s) with:

  • colorful paper

  • colorful words

  • colorful images

  • colorful ideas

This workshop series is free for WriteSPACE members, paid subscribers to Helen’s Word, and members of Sophie’s WRITE! Club.

Visit our zine page to print out your own sequence of 6 zines (pronounced “zeens”), one for each weekly module. At the end of the course, we’ll invite you to submit photos of your creations for a celebratory Writing in Colour gallery.
