Five Things I've Been Into Lately

This month has been such a whirlwind with kid activities and wrapping up everything before the school year ends. We’ve been watching lots of sports lately, mostly youth baseball, while also witnessing the Knicks have their best run in almost 30 years.

I’ve found myself thinking about my late father more than usual lately. He was always so invested in the NBA and would have absolutely loved all the excitement NYC is feeling right now.

But I digress. Let’s get into the other stuff.

  1. I just finished reading Our Perfect Storm and devoured it in two days. If you’re looking for a deep, moving book that’s going to stay with you for years to come, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for a fun, summery romance that takes place in a dreamy location, this is your book. I’m not sure I loved it as much as her other, One Golden Summer, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

  2. On the topic of books, I’m listening to You Deserve to Know on Audible and I’m quite into it. I adore the act of reading, but there’s something so great about having an audio book to make a commute or chores significantly more entertaining. Serious question, though: does listening to a book count as reading? Also, thanks to the ladies of Somewhere Lately for putting it on my radar.

  3. Say hello to my new fun handbag, and one that cost $99. I’ve been admiring The Row one from afar, but couldn’t justify spending Row money on it. I purchased this version , and it looks even better in person. It also comes in black leather (among other colors), which I also ordered to analyze in person. I’m afraid it’s perfect, especially given the price. TBD if I’m going to keep both.

  4. This creamy sculpting bronzer from Sarah Creal is so good. The formula is creamy, yet not liquidity, and perfectly pigmented without looking dirty. I have color 1.0, the lightest shade.

  5. I started watching Off-Campus, and much like everyone else, I’m hooked on a show that’s about a bunch of college kids. I’m sneaking into our bedroom to get a few minutes in, while my children wonder why I’ve disappeared for so long. “Mom! Can you help me with something?” Me: “Be right there!”

My latest mission has been to figure out how I can air-dry my hair without looking like an electrocuted lion. I’m envious of anyone who can air-dry and make their hair look beachy and effortless. I wish! I wore the outfit above for a casual Chinese dinner with the fam. Keith said my bag looked like a bocce ball case - lol!
