Coming at you live from 21B. We’re 10,000 feet in the air, en route to ATX from LAX. Michael is napping with Georgie behind me, Lennon and James are coloring and gabbing in row 23. I’ve got my headphones on, listening to the “70s Japanese Jazz/Funk” playlist on Spotify. Finding a bit of zen before a long weekend of cousin hangs and pool time and extended family bliss.

Wake up call was at 4:30am. It’s currently 9:30 am and I’ve already had two cups of coffee and a sub-par airport cappuccino. Plus a blueberry muffin, just to give my nervous system a healthy dose of sugar too. Anticipating a copious amount of jitters any minute now.

When it comes to airport dressing, I’ve always been a “wear jeans on the flight” gal. There’s something about putting on a real outfit for a flight that wakes me up and makes me feel more ready for where I’m going. I’ve also gotten MUCH better at planning outfits and packing in my adulthood. This comes from the girl who packed an entire suitcase of shoes for a trip to Hawaii when I was 16. I credit this to my frontal lobe finally being formed.
