The brothers have been at the helm for 40 years.
From tributes to Elvis to The Beatles, an historic venue is gearing up for a bumper Bank Holiday.
A special two-day garden party will celebrate 40 years of the Bradley family at the helm of Hardwicke Hall Manor Hotel, Blackhall Colliery.
The milestone anniversary event will feature 12 live acts across Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30, with tributes to Elvis, The Beatles and ‘70s soul through to modern hits.
For owners and brothers Alan and David Bradley, together with their wives Susan and Alison, they say the most important part of the weekend will be seeing familiar faces walk back through the doors.
The response to the special celebration has already brought a wave of messages from people who have been part of Hardwicke Hall’s story over the many years, with old friends telling the family they are making a special point of being there.
“It’s lovely to hear from people who are saying they wouldn’t miss it,” said Alan.
“Some of them haven’t been here for a while through living away now, while others are still regulars. But what really makes us smile is hearing people say they’re coming because they want to celebrate 40 memorable years with us.
“That’s what this weekend is all about. It’s a party, it’s entertainment, but it’s also a chance for people to meet up again.”
The family say their relationship with customers took on an unexpected significance during the Covid lockdowns.
“When we couldn’t open, we had customers telling us how much they missed coming here,” said Alan.
“They weren’t just missing a meal or a night out. They were missing the people, the routine and the feeling of being here.
“Some actually told us they considered us friends, almost family. That really stayed with us because you don’t necessarily realise how important a place becomes in people’s lives until it is suddenly taken away.”
For a family-run business, Alan says that loyalty has created something particularly special.
“People know us. They know our family and they know that when they come here they’ll see familiar faces. They know we’re here come rain or shine.
“That gives you a wonderful connection with people and the local community. They come back time and time again and over the years those customers become friends.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing everyone - it will be nice to see those old friends who have told us they are coming back to celebrate four decades with us.”
