Ciao babies,
Through the rest of the summer, I thought it would be fun to plan some themed menus- I love a good theme. This week, I have 3 recipes perfect for recreating an Italian summer moment at home. Whether you find yourself with a little extra time on a summer Friday, or want to try something new over the weekend, I hope there’s something in here you’ll enjoy! We have a Beer-icano cocktail that you make right in the bottle, Cauliflower All’Amatriciana– a spin on the classic Roman pasta dish that’s perfect as a dinner party app (inspired by a dish I had in Charleston!), and Grilled Chicken Piccata– where you make the sauce and all right on the grill in about 20 minutes in total.
I also have a brand new YouTube video out where I’m recreating recipes from a slew of vintage cookbooks I was recently gifted. It’s a fun watch if you haven’t seen it yet and need some background noise this weekend:
Keeping it short and sweet today, so let’s get to the recipes!
Ingredients:
1 ice cold beer (in the bottle)
½ oz Campari
½ oz sweet vermouth
Thinly sliced orange wedge.
Instructions:
Open your beer and sip a little off the top. Add the half ounce of Campari and the half ounce of sweet vermouth. Gently swirl to combine. Squeeze the orange wedge through into the bottle or use it as a “cap”. Enjoy ice cold.
