When I was building AI at Meta, I switched to the Wearables team (which included the glasses) to build out an emotional well-being suite of products because I was struck by an image that they showed me in an All-Hands meeting: thousands of people at a concert with their phones in front of their faces, watching it through their screens. I understand the desire to record your experience – there is something special to reviewing something from your POV, as opposed to, say, the professional recording - but it was such a shame to see us not enjoying the true experience just to capture a video recording.
I believe that the future of tech is wearables: integrating the benefits of technology into the real world, rather than leaving the real world into a screen.
Note that the Ray-Ban Metas us have a light that turns on, visible to others, when you are taking a photo or recording. As of now, I feel that that’s an important addition to this type of tech.
