Here’s the full revised post:
Thirty four feels different than I expected it to. Not in a dramatic way - I did not wake up on my birthday with some sudden clarity or a new sense of direction. It was quieter than that. More like looking around at my life and realizing that, for the first time, almost everything in it was something I chose. The work, the home, the people, the way I spend my mornings. It did not happen all at once. It happened slowly, over years of figuring out what actually mattered and letting go of what didn't. These are some of the things I learned along the way.
Slowing down is not falling behind. Some of the best decisions I have ever made came from pausing instead of rushing.
Rescue dogs are the best dogs. They know they were chosen and they spend the rest of their lives saying thank you.
Your home environment is quietly affecting your health every single day - your sleep, your stress, your energy. The materials on your walls, the quality of your air, the way light moves through a room. Most people never think about it, but once you do, you cannot unsee it.
Becoming a mother completely changed the way I think about home. It stopped being about aesthetics and started being about how a space actually feels to live in - whether it supports the people inside it, whether it gives them room to breathe and rest and just be.
Comparison is the fastest way to lose your sense of self. Stay in your own lane and keep going.
Gardening has taught me more about patience than anything else in my life. You cannot rush a season.
What you put on your skin matters as much as what you put in your body. Reading the ingredient label is worth the extra thirty seconds.
A good partner is someone who shows up for the ordinary moments, not just the big ones. It is the Tuesday nights and the hard conversations and the way they make you feel on a completely unremarkable day that tells you everything.
Your gut is telling you something. Learn to listen to it before your head talks you out of it.
Food is medicine. The way you feel, think, sleep, and show up for your life is directly connected to what you are putting in your body. It took me longer than I would like to admit to take that seriously, but it changed everything when I did.
