The summer is flying. And it’s scaring me especially this summer because end of the summer means my wedding. And what do you mean I am a literal child bride how am I allowed to get married?!?!!? At least that’s how I feel.
How was everyone’s weekend? Mine included a very fun Friday dinner party with friends (for once I was a guest! I brought a loaf of Pecorino Bread for the host), lots of World Cup viewing (RIP Norway and Haaland), a Chinese food crawl in Flushing, and a really delicious Carne Asada burrito from Son Del North.
It’s been so hot, and it looks like it will only be hotter this week. I’ve been living in this linen skirt from Xirena, and these oversized shorts from Jcrew (I have them in black too). And when it’s cool enough, I’ve been throwing on these fun red track pants. You guys know how much I love my pop of red!!!!
I’m writing this from my desk after I returned home from the farmers market at Union Square. Though the Monday market has less vendors, it’s inarguably less overwhelming than the Wednesday or Saturday market. And in mid-July there’s no shortage of zucchini, cucumbers, and glorious tomatoes to choose from at every vendor.
I brought home a mix of those three along with some baby cantaloupes, cone cabbage (great for grilling!), fresh herbs like cilantro and basil, and the first peaches and jimmy nardello peppers I’ve found this season. But mainly lots of tomato toast: pan toasted sourdough rubbed with garlic, smeared with mayo, and topped with thick slices of tomato and flaky salt
